Timothy Kellis, Convicted Idaho Child Molester, Faces New Charges

Timothy Kellis mug shotTimothy Kellis, a former Camp Grizzly Boy Scout counselor, is already serving a prison term in Idaho. He was convicted eight years ago by a Latah County jury who found Kellis guilty of nine counts of lewd conduct with a minor, two counts of sexual abuse of a child, and one count of attempted lewd conduct with a child. Kellis was employed as a Camp Grizzly Boy Scout counselor when he committed these crimes.

Judge John R. Stegner sentenced Kellis to nine concurrent life sentences with parole possible after 15 years for the lewd conduct counts, as well as a minimum of 15 years in prison for the sexual abuse charges and a minimum of five years for attempted lewd conduct.

He now faces a child rape charge in the state of Washington, has been extradited, and is being held in the Asotin County jail.  Kellis, 47, requested the move so he can face the child rape charge now. He will be arraigned and enter a plea next week in Asotin County Superior Court.

The new charge surfaced after the victim learned that Kellis had been convicted and sentenced to prison in Utah for sexually abusing children. The child told police he was molested by Kellis between Oct. 1, 2003, and Aug. 31, 2005, in Clarkston, Washington.

AT the time, Kellis was an assistant marching band director at Clarkston High School, a position he held from 1995 to 2006. In court records, the child alleges Kellis frequently fondled him and once attempted to perform oral sex with him.

Kellis’ Washington bail was set at $150,000. If he is able to make bail, he would be immediately turned over to Idaho authorities and sent back to Idaho to serve his original prison sentence.

It is quite possible these are not the only victims of Timothy Kellis. If you or a loved one have been assaulted by Kellis, please contact law enforcement authorities immediately. The severity of the charges for which Kellis has already been convicted leads me to believe there are more victims who have yet to come forward and seek justice.
